The other reviewer is correct, this ladder is definitely for a 48" pool. Glad I believed a real person and not the product description. Got a fantastic ladder for my 48" pool for way less than anywhere else.The only issue I had was in assembly, a few of the bolts are slightly longer than the others and are needed in a certain position(under the platform on the removable steps side). By slightly, I mean you can't tell unless you hold them up to each other.Overall a perfect replacement ladder for the cheesy, wobbly one that actually came with the pool.

This ladder puts our minds at ease having a pool in the backyard with two small children. My oldest just learned how to open doors. It's much easier to take the steps out as opposed taking the entire ladder in and out of the pool everyday. The platform on the top adds extra stability. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it doesn't fit our pool perfectly and we needed to add a few paving stones to level it out.

It seems like it would be big for a 36-42 but it isn't quite big enough for a 48". Needs a little lift to get up an inch or two otherwise wobbles on the rail. Box says 36-42 but I bought based on user reviews that it was for a 48-52. Definitely won't work for a 52.
