5Great bang for the buck.
By Cheryl_in_CA
We purchased this pool from another source this summer. I should note that the 12'x36" pool does not come with all the accessories that the 12'x3' pool has. If you see both available when you buy, whether online or at your local warehouse store, be sure to get the one listed at 3 feet! It includes several things not in the 36" box such as a ladder, cover, and a couple of tools (skimming net and an attachment to clean the bottom of the pool).

We have been extremely pleased with the pool. Our yard is not *perfectly* flat, so there is a 2" variance after the water is in the pool. That said, it does not impact the fun the kids are having. As with any huge amount of water, you must take extra care to keep it clean. Invest in the proper chemicals and a testing kit and run the pump each day for a minimum of four hours.

My children are quite young, so this is the ideal size to teach them how to swim. My younger child (2) can stand in the water and it is only chest height on her (water height is about 27"). I don't think it would hold much allure for a child over the age of ten. Be prepared to be in the pool with the kids a lot if they are young. Luckily with the ladder that it isn't much of an issue.

Frankly for the price, if it only lasts two years I will think we got a steal. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a pool that is good for younger kids and wants a pool that can be taken down once the summer is over. Happy swimming!

3fun for everyone......but use with caution
By annemarie brown
it is fun for everyone, but i would like to let everyone know that the filter is not powerful enough for the pool. Also, i wouldnt advise leaving children alone in the pool, if you lean on the sides of the pool, they actually fall causing alot of water loss, not to mention how unsafe it is for smaller children who may get under the force of the water.......

5This pool is fantastic if you aren't lazy about cleaning it

We bought the 12'x30" version on clearance at Target for $65.00 a month ago. The reviews on Amazon were soooo helpful. I don't know why this size gets such a modest review. Check out the reviews for the 10x30". They rave about this pool. Fortunately, we have a large cement patio that is almost level so setting it up was a breeze. There is about a 1-2 inch difference one side but it doesn't affect anything. My girls are 3.5 and 6 and it is the perfect height for them. There is room for dad and I and the girls to all swim together. I can even lounge on my floatie with the girls having plenty of room to play around. It's the perfect size. I gave it a 4 for durability just because if you are too rough with the pool I can see how it might pop the outer ring or spill over if you lean on the ring. My girls know in no uncertain terms never to lean on the ring. I don't trust it to have any weight on it, but I am admittedly paranoid. I feel purchasing the ladder is a must to avoid putting pressure on the ring. Regarding the reviews about the ring popping, that has to be because they were overinflating the ring. The directions clearly state to only blow it up to 80% capacity. You have to allow for expansion when it heats up from the sun. In the evening the ring on ours is pretty mushy, but in the sun it expands to almost fully inflated, so don't blow it up all the way and you won't have a popping problem (unless you pop it with an object). We also purchased the Simple set solar cover. It doubles as a heater and a debris cover and was $20 at Toys R Us (the only place I could find one in stock that size). It doesn't just lay on the pool but actually goes over the sides and ties so it keeps the yuck out, too. The pool comes with a cover but we wanted a solar one, and it was a great purchase. The water actually gets up to 86 degrees with it on. Too warm for me, but the girls love it. The reviews on how to clean the pool were great. Much appreciated. We bought chemicals from Wal-Mart (cheaper than pool stores) and put chlorine in one of those floatie things (highly recommended to decrease the maintenance) and add some chlorine when the girls are done swimming. We have shocked it once since we got it. The water has stayed crystal clear. If you're not going to take care of the pool and buy chlorine for it though, don't bother. You have to maintain it just like any bigger pool or you'll be disappointed. I cannot tell you how pleased we are with this pool. Even the filter seems to be doing it's job, although I do have the girls step in a bucket before getting in to keep the dirt and grass out. I'm not sure how the pool would hold up if there were several rambunctious boys in it, but my girls have gotten the water pretty rough in it and the pool walls just jiggle away but never look like they are going to collapse. For $65 plus the cost of accessories, you just cannot beat it. I recommend getting one now though. I think ours was about $150 in peak season.
