Simply hook the Intex saltwater generator into the pool's water flow as directed, add the specified amount of salt, and the Chlorine Generator will do the rest. We have recommended this product to everyone we know who has a pool. Easy set up, just add salt, turn it on and let it run. being a previous pool owner I know what a hassle it is to do the once a week or once a month shock treatments, the weekly or daily chlorine treatments, checking the chlorine levels every day, etc., but with this unit we set it up for our size pool, added salt right to the pool, turned the unit on and left it alone. I swear, we checked the chlorine level MAYBE three time the whole summer, I am dead serious! Our pool was crystal clear all summer long, no algae build up at all and we didn't do anything except put salt into the pool at the beginning.When people talk about maintenance free, this is what they are talking about! I am serious ... buy this unit!!!

I bought and installed this at the start of two summers ago. It included all hoses and connectors and was easy to install. It worked very well the first season and the beginning of the second season, keeping the water perfectly clear with no taste of saltwater and with no use of chlorine or any other chemical. It is MUCH less expensive to operate because salt is inexpensive versus chemicals and is MUCH simpler than trying to balance chemicals. Early in the second season the electrolytic cell failed, was replaced free under the 2-year warranty, and was easy to replace. Two to three weeks later the entire system failed to power up (i.e., not turn on). This time the entire system was replaced under the original warranty. It arrived too late to be able to use it this second season and is still in its box. Next season I will try to use this replacement.

I ordered this item on July 27th, recieved it on July 31st. Wish I had this for the first 2 years I had my intex pool. Three easy steps to install on a 1500 gph pump. 1. Connect unit between pump and return. 2. Test water and add salt to required level, circulate for 24 hrs. 3. Program unit and forget it. I would definately recommend this for any above ground pool, and commend Crosslake Sales for prompt delivery.
