My Intex 1500 gph model died when a hose broke and half the pool drained, the poor pump ran dry for several hours before it was discovered. It had lasted 3 years and probably would have kept going.... Bought this model to replace it, and HOLY COW what a huge difference. It moves the water in my 18' round quick set pool like a big above ground pool pump. The entire 42" depth moves visibly. It increases the efficiency of the skimmer many times over, and made my fountain spray about 10 feet vertically. It's very quiet, and with features like the timer and the adjustable water outlet eye, this pump is definitely worth the money. I paid extra for overnight shipping because this was an emergency and I'm so happy I did! I recommend this pump filter to anyone with a larger quick set pool. It is going to cut way back on my vacuum time, and I won't need to run it for as many hours to do the job. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase!

Wow what a pump!,,,beats the 1500 hands down...larger filter,cost was a bitmore...don't waste your money on the 1500...runs nice and quiet..has groundfault reset buttons on the end of the cord for safety .

I have a 15-16 foot Intex Summer Escape Pool (inflatable ring around the top). The filter it came with is horrible. It is green in no time. I upgraded to this filter and all is better. It is no longer green, and with the time is crystal clear all the time. You do not have to buy anything extra to install it. No connectors (I did for $20 bucks per other reviews, unneeded). What you need is a pair of sissors and a razor blade. Simply trim the precut hole in the pool 2-3 mm circumfrentially. Lube up the hole, and push the new hose into the "new" cut hole. there will be a lip of pool folding on the interface (1-2mm). Cut this with the razor blade against the plastic hose adaptor and you get a perfect circle and perfect fit. It took me about 15-20mins to get both holes cut and the filter connected.
