Our pool sits under a Pine Tree therefore "thousands of pine needles and seedlings drop into our pool daily. I would skim the pool three or four times a day and when I was even in the pool I was constantly skimming the pool. My husband installed the skimmer in less than five minutes - and when I went out to check on it an hour later I almost cried - the pool was 100% pine tree clean. Since we have purchased this skimmer I have not skimmed the pool once. I HIGHLY recommend this to everyone, you will not be disappointed.

This clever little piece of equipment literally saved our pool! We have many trees over and near our 18 foot Intex pool and it was a daily nightmare of cleaning, but we could never really get it clean. The other problem was the very tiny pollen pods, millions of them, that the hand held leaf net wouldn't catch. Within 20 minutes of turning this skimmer on the pool was cleaner than it had ever been before. After an hour (this was a very very dirty pool) it was spotless. I now run it a couple of hours every day and our pool is sparkling clean for the first time in 4 years. I will never be without one of these. It even cleans the "scum" and oily residue from the surface of the water.

I bought this to use on Intex's smallest pool, the 8-foot easy-set.Basically with my setup, the thing just doesn't work. The blue top ring that's supposed to float and control the skimming action floats too high, no water goes over its edge and it doesn't collect anything. I'm using a pump that's above the stated minimum size for the skimmer (1500GPH pump, skimmer instructions state 1200GPH minimum), but I think because of the loose tolerances with which this thing is made, the water just goes through the underwater gap around the floating part, rather than over its top.Contributing to this I think, is the fact that while the instructions make a point of saying the skimmer has to sit level, there's no way to make it sit level in an easy-set pool, which has sloping sides! It would probably be better in a framed pool.
