just an fyi.... you can buy this plug directly from intex for $1.15 with the same amount of time for shipping! i can't believe these people have the ba..s to jack the price up by $8 for a piece of plastic!!!!!i found something almost identical that worked in the plumbing dept. at our local hardware chain store! go look, unless you don't mind throwing away like $10!

This drain adapter works, but (as all other reviews have said) leaks, and doesnot look like the item Amazon is showing.See my JPG of the real item.The thing probably leaks, because it has no gasket.If you rely on this way of emptying your pool, you will be at it for a coupleof days and that is if you have a small pool; if your pool is over 1500 gallons, I wouldrecommend using a sump pump, or at least your pool pump until the water line gets down tothe pool exhaust (pump intake) line at which point it starts sucking air and you have to goto some other system.

It does make it so you can attach a garden hose, but the threads are soft plastic, so you can't really tighten it too much, and it ends up leaking. Good in a pinch, but you'll be frustrated.
