This 603 is a new model replacing the 02 model. It is manufactured wrong. The basic principal of a filter system is to bring the medium (water, air, etc.) through the filter before being released through the pump. This design does not accomplish this feat. It sends the water around the filter and directly back out the pump. Buy one that has a center impeller (the 637 or higher models). The 603 has a offset impeller, you will notice that the 603 is sending dirty water back into the pool.

We bought our kids an Intex little 12x30 pool for Easter this year almost exactly 4 months ago and the pump has already stopped working completely! It never worked well at all, we had to add lots of chemicals to the water & even decided it would be cheaper to drain the entire pool & refill to start over hoping that would help. Now I have to deal w/Intex across the country in CA to ship the pump w/insurance for them to decide IF it will be covered under warranty or go ahead & bite the bullet & buy another pump myself! My kids & I are all very disappointed!

I had to replace my 1st pool filter in the middle of the summer last year, it just died. Then soon after putting it up this year, the lid began to leak. Whether I screwed it on tightly or not, it leaked alot. Then I noticed a chunk missing at the top of the container, so I used duck tape to fill in and for a while it helped. Now I have to use duck tape and I have had to raise it about 2 feet from the ground to keep it from leaking!! This is my last season with this filter/pool!
