After three years of using the Intex Easy Set pool, I made the decision to step up a bit to the 18' round by 52" deep Ultra Frame pool. I now have used the Ultra Frame pool for two years. I love it! We live in the high desert in New Mexico and I use my pool everyday after work. Now, here is the straight "skinny" (no pun intended) on the pool.1. DO NOT SET THIS POOL UP UNLESS YOU KNOW THE GROUND IS ABSOLUTELY LEVEL! I'm talking transit level level. If the slope is off by even a couple of inches you WILL experience disaster. I had a 22'X24' concrete pad installed for my pool. That is one of the reasons why I have had such great luck with both of my Intex pools.2. Get the saltwater system with your pool. It took me the first season to get the hang of the saltwater system. It is absolutely critical to balance the ph of the water when you set up the pool. Skip this step and your saltwater system will not be as efficient as you need it to be. Once you get it balanced you wil find the saltwater system is very easy to use. The salt cell will require maintenance a few times during the season. Follow the manufacturers instructions! When the salt cell becomes corroded because of minerals in your water it stops chlorinating your pool. I get water softener salt from Home Depot for about 1/2 the price of the salt at the pool store. Water softener salt is 99.9% pure salt. Once a week use the "boost" feature and you'll never have algae in your pool. The water is--as advertised--crystal clear all the time.3. The pump that comes with the saltwater system is powerful. I've used mine without any problems for two years; HOWEVER, if you have to run an extension cord to the pump DO NOT USE A LIGHT OR MEDIUM DUTY cord. Get the heavy duty construction extension cord that contractors use for power equipment. The light or medium duty cord WILL BURN OUT YOUR PUMP.4. I got the Hayward "Wanda the Whale" pool cleaner. Run that hummer three days a week and pool cleaning is a breeze. Using the funky pool vac that comes with the pool can take hours a week.5. The pool ladder is OK. It does the job. You don't want to have a couple of beers before climbing on it.

I actually purchased this exact pool from Target for $499.99. Not sure why it is so expensive here. Get this pool along with the Saltwater system and you'll never question why you won't pay 30K for an inground pool. The ladder will have to be replaced after 2 years, due to rust and what not. Other than that, this this is great.
